Conference Summary:

It was an amazingly hot day.  We were standing in line waiting.  All of the sudden, streams and streams of young women dressed in blue passed by us headed into the Kotel.  Looking over the side of a ramp, we could see that the girls were moving into the women’s side of the space in front of the Western Wall, the final remaining portion of the ancient wall that surrounded the Holy Temple.  While the men’s half of the “Wailing Wall” was almost vacant, the young girls filled the segment reserved for women, overflowing to fill the entire area, even to the back of the plaza.  There they stood in the Israeli sun and prayed.  They were praying for rain in the middle of a drought.  As they pressed forward, the barrier limiting the space available to them shifted.  At first it edged.  Finally the Rabbis came and moved it over to allow the women in blue some of the space reserved for themselves.  At last the women in blue took their place.  And yes, it rained that weekend.
